This 52 km solo race is the perfect way to discover the Veni Vici. A “marathon-plus” distance that sits right between the full 87 km VENI VICI challenge (which can intimidate some) and the 33 km, which others might find a little too short. After a majestic and historic start at the foot of the Pont du Gard, you’ll quickly get straight into the action.

Get ready for a festival of climbs and descents in the first 10 kilometers, passing through villages and magical sites: Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard, the remarkable underground tunnels of Sernhac carved by the Romans (where water once flowed toward Nîmes), and the castles of Lédenon and Cabrières.

When you reach the entrance of Nîmes and the charming Mas d’Escattes municipal park, you’ll know the finish is getting close! The final stretch toward Nemausus will be playful and a little leg-breaking. You’ll rediscover the Roman atmosphere at the foot of the famous Tour Magne, before flying down the slope of the lush Jardins de la Fontaine, finishing with a final sprint in Roman Nîmes that will definitely leave your legs in pieces.

Then, of course, you’ll be free to shout: “I came, I conquered… I survived!” And if the emotion takes over, just let it all out, it was simply so beautiful and so good. Those Romans were definitely crazy. Absolutely exhilarating!

[ Do not rely on the elevation gain indicated on Openrunner below. The mapping tool—which we love otherwise—has some difficulty capturing the countless steep climbs that characterize the challenging and dynamic terrain of the Veni Vici. We won’t hold it against them, as the routes drawn in our beautiful Gard scrubland have left many participants bewildered. ]
