This 82 km is the flagship distance of the VENI VICI. The most beautiful and varied. It’s getting even better with an additional 10 km to offer you some great new features and because, as the saying goes, “the longer, the better!”. You’ll have the privilege of a full ascent of the Roman aqueduct (in the direction of the water) that supplied Nîmes over 2000 years ago, starting from the Fontaine d’Eure in Uzès. If you were with us in 2023, get ready to lose all your landmarks, as it will never climb and descend in the same places.

The race will start at 8:30 am on Saturday morning at the foot of the magnificent medieval Duchy of Uzès. You’ll immediately immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Roman aqueduct in the Eure Valley where it originated, before an unprecedented ascent into the surrounding hills, then heading towards the villages of Saint-Maximin and Argilliers. With a few nice climbs right from the start to remind you of the challenge. Hang in there, apprentice centurion, the path is still long at this stage!

After some twists and turns in the hills perfumed with thyme and rosemary, you’ll pass by the stone quarries of Vers where the stones used to build the Pont du Gard were extracted. Then it will be a celebration of Roman heritage after the typical village of Vers-Pont du Gard, with a succession of remnants of the aqueduct arches, all the way to the Pont du Gard which you’ll tread on 2000 years after the Roman soldiers. Guaranteed thrill, with a refueling stop perfectly timed to replenish you.

You’ll then be treated to a rollercoaster of ups and downs to recover from your emotions, with crossings of villages and magical sites: St-Bonnet-du-Gard, the site of the astonishing underground tunnels of Sernhac dug by the Romans (through which water flowed towards Nîmes), the castles of Lédenon and Cabrières…

When you arrive at the gates of the charming municipal park of Mas d’Escattes at the entrance of Nîmes, things will start to smell good for you! The finish towards Nemausus will be playful and a bit challenging, but we know you love that. You’ll rediscover the Roman atmosphere at the foot of the famous Tour Magne, before descending the slope of the verdant Jardins de la Fontaine, until the final sprint in Roman Nîmes, which will definitively exhaust your legs. Then, of course, you’ll have all the latitude to shout: “I came, I conquered, I surviiiiived.” And if you feel overwhelmed with emotion, let it all out, it was so BEAUTIFUL and GOOD! Those Romans were definitely crazy. Jubilant!

This 45 km solo is the perfect compromise for discovering the Veni Vici. It’s a mid-range “marathon” distance between the full 82 km (which scares some) and the 27 km, which others find a bit too short. After a magnificent and historic start at the foot of the Pont du Gard, you’ll almost immediately get into the thick of it.

Get ready for a festival of ups and downs in the first 10 kilometers, with crossings of villages and magical sites: St-Bonnet-du-Gard, the site of the astonishing underground tunnels of Sernhac dug by the Romans (through which water flowed towards Nîmes), the castles of Lédenon and then Cabrières…

When you arrive at the entrance of the very charming municipal park of Mas d’Escattes at the entrance of Nîmes, things will start to smell good for you! The finish towards Nemausus will be playful and a bit challenging. You’ll rediscover the Roman atmosphere at the foot of the famous Tour Magne before descending the slope of the verdant Jardins de la Fontaine, until the final sprint in Roman Nîmes, which will definitively exhaust your legs. Then, of course, you’ll have all the latitude to shout: “I came, I conquered, I surviiiiived.” And if you feel overwhelmed with emotion, let it all out, it was so BEAUTIFUL and GOOD! The 27 km is the ideal compromise for those who don’t yet have the legs for the full VENI VICI (82 km) or the 44 km between Nîmes and Le Pont du Gard. You’ll have the privilege of starting at the foot of the magnificent Duchy of Uzès on Saturday late morning under a (typically) generous southern sun, in the opposite direction of last year’s route.

You’ll be immediately immersed in a verdant atmosphere in the Eure Valley where the Roman aqueduct of Nîmes originated. Then you’ll traverse the charming villages of Saint-Maximin and Argilliers, passing through hills redolent with the scent of thyme and rosemary.

Lower your gaze, then raise your head as you approach the village of Vers-Pont-du-Gard: you’ll have the chance to run within the conduit of the aqueduct and alongside the quarries where the stones used to build the Pont du Gard (still in service) were extracted. Just that!

Then it will be a celebration of Roman heritage with a succession of remnants of the aqueduct arches, until the final crossing of the majestic Pont du Gard, at the foot of which the finish line will be located. Here’s to 2000 years of history and a triumphant smile, young centurion!

Why should it be only for runners? This 27 km ‘Nordic walking’ route, intended for sporty walkers who don’t like to dawdle, will allow them to play with the clock and poles (allowed but not mandatory) for those who wish. For the rest, it’s the same as for the 27 km runners: departure at the foot of the magnificent Duchy of Uzès on Saturday late morning under a (normally) generous southern sun, in the opposite direction of the route proposed last year.

You’ll be immediately immersed in a verdant atmosphere in the Eure Valley where the Roman aqueduct of Nîmes originated. Then, you’ll traverse the charming villages of Saint-Maximin and Argilliers, passing through hills redolent with the scent of thyme and rosemary.

Lower your eyes, then raise your head as you approach the village of Vers-Pont-du-Gard: you’ll have the chance to run within the aqueduct conduit and alongside the quarries where the stones used to build the Pont du Gard (still in service) were extracted. Just that!

The atmosphere will be set from the outset with a start at the foot of the imposing Pont du Gard on Saturday early afternoon under inevitably Mediterranean sun. It’s hard to find a more magical setting! You’ll take in the best of both the right and left bank sides on a playful, energetic, and verdant route that will introduce you to the finest of the Pont du Gard site and elevate you to overlook the monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We want VENI VICI to be a beautiful, popular, and friendly event, not only reserved for runners but also showcasing the Gard region. This is achieved with the new ‘hike’ formula, open to ages 7 and up, offering a best-of experience of the Pont du Gard site. It’s okay to love nature, history, heritage, and not worry about the clock!

This hike, perfect for families, is an ideal way to discover the most iconic part of the Nîmes aqueduct, built in the 1st century, at your own pace, without time constraints. It’s suitable for individuals, friends, or families, as long as they were born before December 31, 2017.

On an unprecedented hiking trail that showcases the stunning environment of the Pont du Gard site, you’ll experience a true sports course (350 meters elevation gain), slightly smoother and less technical than the 14 km run.

Like all other participants, you’ll enjoy a lovely refreshment station and a delicious beer or lemonade brewed by a local artisan to ‘replay the match’ as a team at the finish line.
