La Veni Vici also offers a 16 km hiking format on a marked non-timed course that will allow you to discover the Pont du Gard Site’s magical surroundings. Hiking sticks are allowed, and registration is not conditioned by a level of practice. The hike is open to all healthy individuals, starting at the age of 7 for those who want to participate as a family. The only condition is to be born before 31.12.2019. No medical certificate is required for the hike, as it does not result in a ranking.
Can I register on site during the event weekend?
NO. No registration can be made on site, even if other participants cancel. If there are any spots left (highly unlikely, as Veni Vici sells out every year), online registrations will remain open until Friday, November 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM. Due to the high demand for Veni Vici (with 10,000 participants in 2025), we strongly encourage you to register as early as possible, otherwise, you may be disappointed!
What happens to my registration if the event is postponed or canceled?
In the event that VENI VICI cannot take place for any reason beyond our control – such as a major weather event or a public health crisis resulting in the cancellation of public events – no bib will be refunded.
Depending on when the event cancellation is announced, a partial refund or rescheduling of the registration may potentially be offered by the organization, without obligation on their part.

The courses
What is the technical difficulty level of la Veni Vici?
Some runners may suffer during the Veni Vici due to a lack of training, a start that’s a little too fast, or simply an off day… but keep your eyes (and toes) wide open. You will be running along one of the most remarkable structures in the world inherited from ancient builders: the Nîmes aqueduct, built 2,000 years ago. Unique and magical. We could have added more elevation gain, more technical sections, more… STOP. Instead, we simply designed what we felt was the most BEAUTIFUL course around the Roman aqueduct, with as much variety as possible across the different routes.
As for the course itself, this Veni Vici is a real cure for boredom: it twists and turns, it climbs (a little, but never for long), it descends (a little… or quite often), it’s sometimes fast and runnable (but not too much), just technical enough, with very little asphalt, all set in a remarkable natural environment.
Starting from medieval Uzès or from the Pont du Gard (depending on the format you choose), you will travel back in time through the fragrant garrigue, pass through charming villages of the Gard region, and marvel at Roman engineering, until the grand finale: the finish in the most Roman of French cities, beautiful Nemausus (Nîmes), the endpoint of the Roman aqueduct of Nîmes. For both your eyes and your legs, you’re in for a royal treat!
Is la Veni Vici a real trail or rather a sequence of small roads and paths like on the SaintéLyon?
Despite its deceptive profile (2,250 m of elevation gain — just a small detail, right?), this Veni Vici can be tricky. Be careful not to start too fast in the first kilometers leaving Uzès. A series of roller-coaster sections awaits you early in the race, including a brand-new passage by the orientation table where you’ll enjoy an unusual view of the Duchy of Uzès.
Although the course will remain relatively “gentle” until the Pont du Gard, with at least 95% on trails, make sure to keep some energy in reserve. Because once you cross the Gardon River, get ready for a real roller coaster for quite a few kilometers. The paved sections will be limited to village crossings and the final stretch into Nîmes. For the rest: pure wilderness! And then there’s that wonderful scent of thyme in the middle of the garrigue… You’ll need to savor it while pushing yourself along the path of the ancient builders, young centurion!
Is there a minimum level of running or trail experience required?
NO, la Veni Vici is absolutely not reserved for experienced competitors: even novice runners have their place, to fully enjoy the routes. The courses are fully marked and secured, without any overly technical sections. And if running really scares you, you can always opt for the 33 km nordic walking or the 16 km hiking format (which replaces the old “gourmet walk”). It is precisely this variety of options that makes la Veni Vici so popular.
The 18 km run (loop around the Pont du Gard site) in particular is accessible even to people who have never worn a bib in their life (most people end up hooked). This will give you some muscle soreness on J+2, but that’s what motivates you, right? 😉
Are there time barriers?
There will be something for all runners and walkers, from the 87 km to the 16 km hike. After all, earning the title of Veni Vici finisher has to be deserved! But don’t worry, we have set very generous cut-off times (to say the least) to allow as many participants as possible to reach the finish line. We hope you’ll be able to progress throughout the day without the stress of the time limit, which can sometimes spoil the fun.

Where is the Pont du Gard located?
Well, we’ll forgive your geographical approximations if you’re from far away. But we’re still talking about a major tourist site in France, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site! For 2000 years, the Pont du Gard has been located halfway between the beautiful Roman city of Nîmes (27 km away) and Avignon (21 km away).
For more information, take a look over there, it’s perfectly explained. If you choose to use a car, consider carpooling by checking out our Facebook space (more information to come) or BlablaCar.

Accommodation and catering
What's the best plan for sleeping and eating between Nîmes, Le Pont du Gard and Uzès?
No need to worry, even if you’re not the type to plan ahead: the department of Gard, which is very touristy, has a wide range of accommodation options. You should be fine even if you’re coming in a group.
The best place to sleep or eat? The best deals and ideas for visits? Since everyone has different tastes and budgets, check out our dedicated page created in partnership with Gard Tourism, where you should be able to find what you’re looking for.
After the race
Are showers and toilets available?
For the bathrooms, the answer is YES. Fixed toilets are available on the Pont du Gard site and toilets will be provided at the starting points in Uzès and at the finish line in Nîmes to satisfy urgent needs before and after the race. Follow the signage on site and you can relax!
For showers, the answer is NO. You can’t have everything in life. On such magical sites as the Pont du Gard or the Arènes de Nîmes, there is not a gymnasium in the immediate vicinity. A hot shower for thousands of participants, impossible!
Is a massage-physio space available?
YES. Physiotherapists and osteopaths will be available at the finish line at the Pont du Gard site and in Nîmes.
Where to check the results after the race?
Don’t panic, the rankings will be available as soon as the finish line is crossed on our website www.lavenivici.com under the “Results” section and via QR code (smartphone) on the information panels provided for this purpose in the arrival area. A LiveTrail tracking will be accessible here .
Will pictures be available after the race?
YES. A photo report of our organization will be uploaded in the days following the race on our Facebook page, downloadable for free.

Become a volunteer
Is la Veni Vici looking for volunteers?
YES-YES-YES! It’s really kind of you to offer, as we have many needs for volunteers: on the race courses, for bib collection, refreshments, and the start-finish areas. We have many interesting tasks to offer you to experience the event from the inside and contribute to its success.
To register as a volunteer, it’s right here !
For any additional information, regardless of the subject, you can send us an email at: volotaire@yeswerun.fr.
