Waste cleanup operation

🌍 When Veni Vici participants and volunteers step up 🙏
On Sunday, May 11, in partnership with CAP Océans, Yeswerun, the City of Marguerittes, and with the support of Super U MARGUERITTES, about 30 people, aged 9 to 71, rolled up their sleeves for a big morning of cleaning. With the green wardens of Marguerittes, we focused on a 2 KM stretch along the paths used each November by Veni Vici. 💚
📛 The results are both impressive and alarming: once sorted and compacted, we collected 15 bags of 150 liters each, totaling 2,250 liters of waste! 😱
📊 Among the “treasures” we found:
👎 422 plastic bottles
👎 319 metal cans
👎 541 food wrappers
👎 868 pieces of polystyrene
👎 204 glass bottles
👎 70 cigarette packs
👎 8 full plastic bags and tarps
👎 4 nitrous oxide canisters
👎 7 tires
👎 49 clothing items and towels
👎 And even… a bag of adult VHS tapes! 🙈
These figures show the scale of the problem, but also the positive impact we can have together in just a few hours of action!

👏 A HUGE thank you to all participants who gave up their Sunday morning while the weather was perfect for sleeping in! A great first event showing how sport and ecology can go hand in hand.
📆 See you at our next cleanup operation before summer (likely in Nîmes) — this time with a fun and playful format…
