The 87 km race is the queen distance of the VENI VICI. The most beautiful and varied route, offering a true festival of Roman heritage, and because, as the saying goes, “the longer it is, the better it gets!” You’ll run the entire length of the Roman aqueduct upstream, in the opposite direction of the channel that supplied water to Nîmes more than 2,000 years ago.
After a Saturday morning start at the foot of the magnificent medieval Duchy of Uzès, you’ll immediately be immersed in the atmosphere of the Roman aqueduct in the Eure Valley, where it once began. Then comes a unique climb through the surrounding hills before heading toward the villages of Saint-Maximin and Argilliers. A few early climbs will quickly remind you what you signed up for. Take it easy, young centurion, the road is still long at this stage!
After winding through hills filled with the scents of thyme and rosemary, you’ll pass the stone quarries of Vers, where the blocks used to build the Pont du Gard were extracted. Then comes a true festival of Roman heritage after the typical village of Vers-Pont-du-Gard, with a succession of remains from the aqueduct’s arches, leading all the way to the Pont du Gard, which you will cross 2,000 years after the Roman soldiers once did. A guaranteed thrill, with an aid station arriving at just the right moment to recharge your batteries.

You’ll then enjoy a festival of climbs and descents to recover from the excitement, passing through villages and magical sites: Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard, the remarkable underground tunnels of Sernhac carved by the Romans (where water once flowed toward Nîmes), and the castles of Lédenon and Cabrières.
When you reach the entrance to Nîmes and the charming Mas d’Escattes municipal park, you’ll know the finish is getting close! The final stretch toward Nemausus will be playful and a little leg-breaking — but we know you like that. You’ll rediscover the Roman atmosphere at the foot of the famous Tour Magne, before flying down the slope of the lush Jardins de la Fontaine, passing by the Maison Carrée, and finishing with a final sprint inside the millennia-old Arena of Roman Nîmes, which will definitely leave your legs in pieces.
Then you’ll be free to shout: “I came, I conquered… I survived!” And if the emotion takes over, just let it all out — it was simply so beautiful and so good. Those Romans were definitely crazy. Absolutely exhilarating!

This 52 km solo race is the perfect way to discover the Veni Vici. A “marathon-plus” distance that sits right between the full 87 km VENI VICI challenge (which can intimidate some) and the 33 km, which others might find a little too short. After a majestic and historic start at the foot of the Pont du Gard, you’ll quickly get straight into the action.
Get ready for a festival of climbs and descents in the first 10 kilometers, passing through villages and magical sites: Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard, the remarkable underground tunnels of Sernhac carved by the Romans (where water once flowed toward Nîmes), and the castles of Lédenon and Cabrières.

Then, of course, you’ll be free to shout: “I came, I conquered… I survived!” And if the emotion takes over, just let it all out, it was simply so beautiful and so good. Those Romans were definitely crazy. Absolutely exhilarating!

The 33 km race is the perfect compromise for those who are not quite ready yet to tackle the full VENI VICI challenge (87 km) or the 52 km between the Pont du Gard and Nîmes. You’ll start on Saturday in the late morning at the foot of the magnificent Duchy of Uzès, under the (usually) generous southern sun, following the reverse direction of last year’s course.
You’ll immediately be immersed in the lush green surroundings of the Eure Valley, where the Roman aqueduct supplying Nîmes once began. Then you’ll pass through the charming villages of Saint-Maximin and Argilliers, crossing hills filled with the scents of thyme and rosemary.
Look down, then lift your head as you approach the village of Vers-Pont-du-Gard: you’ll have the chance to run through the aqueduct’s channel and alongside the quarries where the stones used to build the Pont du Gard were extracted (and which are still visible today). Quite something!
Then comes a true celebration of Roman heritage, with a succession of aqueduct arch remains, leading to the final crossing of the majestic Pont du Gard, where the finish line awaits at its foot. Two thousand years of history await you and a triumphant smile, young centurion! 🏛️

We want VENI VICI to be a beautiful, popular, and friendly event, not only reserved for runners but also showcasing the Gard region. This is achieved with the new ‘hike’ formula, open to ages 7 and up, offering a best-of experience of the Pont du Gard site. It’s okay to love nature, history, heritage, and not worry about the clock!
This hike, perfect for families, is an ideal way to discover the most iconic part of the Nîmes aqueduct, built in the 1st century, at your own pace, without time constraints. It’s suitable for individuals, friends, or families, as long as they were born before December 31, 2019.
On an unprecedented hiking trail that showcases the stunning environment of the Pont du Gard site, you’ll experience a true sports course (445 meters elevation gain), slightly smoother and less technical than the 18 km run.
Like all other participants, you’ll enjoy a lovely refreshment station and a delicious beer or lemonade brewed by a local artisan to ‘replay the match’ as a team at the finish line.
